Performing in a Covid Safe Way

In addition to the use of face visors and hand sanitisers, I have been performing “No Touch” magic in the current environment. This means that the spectators do not touch any of the items used, such as coins, cards, ropes etc. Normally I perform a lot of magic that happens in spectator’s hands and let them check the items used so that they are sure that no gimmickery is involved. “No Touch” magic means that I have had to make various changes. Alternative methods of proof of the legitimacy of items for example. Also, some magic effects where the magic happens in the spectator’s hands have been put on the back burner until the Covid restrictions are removed and people feel more comfortable with the situation. Although some effects are temporarily off the menu, it has meant that the creative juices have been firing to provide different climaxes to some effects and also the creation of completely new effects that can be performed safely in the current environment. As they say ……… every cloud has a silver lining.
